Rourkela : A one day Sensitization workshop on ‘Digital Transformation and Industry 4.0’ was organized at HRD Center of SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) on 21st September. Mr. S R Suryawanshi, ED (Works) graced the occasion as the chief guest and inaugurated the programme. Ms. Rajashree Banerjee, CGM, HRD, Mr. S. Pal Choudhury, CGM (I &A), Mr. K. Sengupta, CGM(C&IT) and many Senior Officers of RSP were also present on the occasion. In all 30 participants both executives and non-executives from different Departments participated in the sessions. The main objective of the program was to achieve the industry best performance matrices for agility, quality, productivity, profitability, customer experience, environment and social responsibility through data insights
In his address, Mr. Suryawanshi emphasised upon the importance of digital transformation and firming up the learning and development policy in the wake of changing times and emerging technologies. He urged all to enhance their understanding of the digital ecosystem and catalyze leadership, so as to leverage the development of Information Systems, and Digital Innovations.
Speaking on the occasion Mr. Pal Choudhury highlighted the advantages of Digital Transformation and skill development and emphasized on preparing to strengthen digitization system in RSP and make it a world Class Corporation producing green steel.
At the outset Ms. Rajashree Banerjee, CGM, HRD, RSP delivered the welcome address while Mr. K. Srinivas, GM(HRD) proposed a vote of thanks. Mrs. Samita Mishra, Sr. Instructor (HRD) anchored the programme. The proceedings began with the lighting of ceremonial lamp and rendition of National anthem.
Later during the day, different sessions on the theme ‘Digital Transformation Industry 4.0’ were conducted by Mr. S. Pal Choudhury, CGM (I &A), Mr. K.Sengupta, CGM(C&IT), Mr. Anup Jena, GM I/c (E&A), Mr. K.Srinivas, GM (HRD) and Dr. D.P Acharya, Professor, NIT, Rourkela.
