Buruea Head PKB: As the controversy surrounding to the statue erected in front of the Vikram Dev College, Jeypore went on creating public resentment, the Statue was covered with cloth and a new Statue of Jeypore king Vikram Dev would be installed soon as stated by MLA, Jeypore Taraprasad Bahinipati. As per the information received, on 17th September, the foot overbridge of VD College alongwith the statue of King Vikram Dev got inagurated by MLA Jeypore Taraprasad Bahinipati and Collector Koraput Abdal M.Akhatar but the intellectual group of Jeypore made objection that ” The statue erected was not of King Vikram Dev rather someone else.” Then, there was objection came from different parts of Jeypore to change the statue following which a statue of Vikram Dev would be erected soon as stated by MLA. People feel it was wastage of money to be spent again.
