ASSTA Agency – A Big failure in Providing Electricity Services to Jeypore Municipality

Buruea Head NF Times (PKB): Even though people of Odisha are getting benefits from a battery of programs and schemes of BJD govt under the leadership of Naveen Patnaik but the street lights glowing during daytime couldn’t be resolved by the agency taken the maintenance responsibility called ASTTA in Jeypore Municipality of Koraput District. The agency (ASTTA) has hardly three electrical employees engaged for such a vast area. There are more than thirty percentage of street lights found glowing during daytime and there are areas where there is pitch darkness. The general people have gone tired by imploring the authorities of Jeypore municipality to replace the agency ASTTA which has no workers nor any supervisor to satisfy the Electricity requirements of the people here at Jeypore. The agency ASTTA has been entrusted with the responsibility of organising the maintenance works by EESL but the way it serves has already received severe charges of criticism and the callousness of the agency has afforded enough to defame the reputation of BJD govt. The people in general at Jeypore appealed the intervention of urban development department regarding the utter negligence of ASTTA. The urban development department sent one Electrical person called Mr.P.K.Mallick who came from BBSR but he was allegedly reported that MrMallick left without finding any solution to this grave issue.
Very unfortunate as stated by many people of Jeypore that the concerned persons of ASTTA do never come to the Jeypore as two supervisors of ASTTA are staying at a distance of more than one hundred kilometres from Jeypore being alledgely stated by many. The executive officer Siddharth Pattnaik of Jeypore municipality has been found expressing his personal dissatisfaction with the negligence of the agency ASTTA. The urban development department is required to intervene in this issue of grave concern or else people in general would loose confidence upon the BJD govt.
