Locally called ‘Maausi Maa’ SUNAMANI no more

Brahmapur : Sunamani Dwibedi of Kalimela, Malkanagiri passed away on 19th October at Kalimela. Also, her home is the place of “Maausi Maa” temple for Lord Jagannath. Sweet Podapitha is being prepared here during the arrival of Lord Jagannath at the time of the sacred CAR FESTIVAL (Rathyatra). Sunamani Dwibedi was known as the” MAUSI MAA” as the head of the family of Mausi Maa temple. She used to perform all the rituals of Lord Jagannath during His stay at MAUSI MAA temple of Kalimela. She has given birth to seven children including three sons and four daughters. She was a hardworking and outgoing lady. She was an excellent homemaker and could study the Bhagavata Geeta & many other poems and scriptures flawlessly even though she was not highly educated. She heartily performed her family duties and had a great devotion to her traditions and culture. Serving cows was another major and favorite activity of Sunamani Dwibedi. Her dedication towards her family, relatives, neighbours , nearers and dearers was praise worthy. Her 12th-day ritual has been celebrated on 30th October last. Along with this, a memorial service was organized for the pious Mother at TNT Skill Center in Berhampur. Mr. Kameshwar Mohanty presided over the mourning. TNT members and students participated in the meeting and expressed their grief. We all pray Lord Sri Jagannath for the salvation of her immortal soul to mingle with the Supreme Lord.
