51st All India Railway Gymnastics Championship concludes at SER headquaters, Garden Reach

Kolkata:The 51st All India Railway Gymnastics Championship organised by South Eastern Railway Sports Association (SERSA) at BNR Indoor Sports Complex, Garden Reach from 9th to 11th November, 2022 concluded today. Ms. Archana Joshi, General Manager, South Eastern Railway gave away the prizes to the winners in presence of Sri Ishaq Khan, Principal Chief Electrical Engineer & President, SERSA and other senior Railway Officers. Fourteen veteran gymnasts of South Eastern Railway were also felicitated by the General Manager during the Award Ceremony.
The Men’s Team of South Eastern Railway emerged Champion whereas North Central Railway became the runner up. The third position was bagged by Eastern Railway. Ms. Papia Das of Metro Railway was adjudged the best All Round Gymnast in Women’s Individual Championship. Sri Siddhartha Verma of North Central Railway was the Winner of Men’s All Round Individual Championship.
During the Award Distribution Ceremony, Ms. Archana Joshi, General Manager, SER congratulated the winners and mentioned about the rich heritage of South Eastern Railway in sports. GM also said that this kind of Championship strengthens the bonding among the sport persons as well as helps to improve their performance. Sri Ishaq Khan, Principal Chief Electrical Engineer & President, SERSA welcomed the distinguished guests and gymnasts.
Altogether, 46 gymnasts from 8 Zonal Railways and Production Units took part in the three day Championship. The participating teams were South Eastern Railway, Eastern Railway, Metro Railway, South Central Railway, Nothern Railway, Western Railway, North Central Railway and Chittaranjan Locomotive Works.
