Prasanta Bishoyi (AGM, NFTIMES) : It was really a deed of glory and an act of immensity of appreciation for the tribal dominated Malkangiri district in the state of Odisha when the Sub Divisional Magistrate of the district Sri. Akshaya Kumar Khemundu was conferred upon the Doctorate in Philosophy (Phd) owing to his multidimensional expertise upon many fields and vast exposure to a galaxy of developmental projects of the government of the state and the country as well.
Mr. Khemundu, having been conferred this special doctorate in philosophy by the international renowned Public University of California of United States of America (USA) located in Marian Island that yielded fathomless joy and pleasure to the fans and people of the district. The glorious honour of Phd came to him in an International convocation held at Perambulor in Tamilnadu of our country. There were constellation of many intellectual giants from various facets of life. No sooner did the news about the conference of Doctorate Medal come to the Iconic Administrator of the district than the euphoria of pleasure stated flowing into the pocket of Mr. Khemundu.
Born and brought up in the most backward region of the state, (Semiliguda, In Koraput district ) Mr.Akshaya Khemundu was nourished and academically decently trained by his father Sri. Jaya Chandra Khemundu and Mother, Sarojini Khemundu, both served government of Odisha many years as officers. Mr. Akshaya Khemundu was not only a nice gentleman but a pioneering personality in making the implementation of Odisha government schemes and policies.
Got his graduation qualified from the most prolific educational institution of Odisha (BJB College, Bhubaneswar ) and post graduation from the premiere college of the country JNU, New Delhi. After qualification of his civil service in the state of Odisha, Mr. Khemundu was entrusted with a plethora of responsibilities and duties. But he joined the tribal dominated Malkangiri district, he excelled in multiple works of government and became a good book of the tribals, SC, ST and general people. His supervision of electioneering was hugely admired following which he was also awarded by his Excellency The Governor of Odisha.
Completely down to earth Mr Khemundu has hardly failed in his responsible works. When posted to Malkangiri district, he felt “This is the best district which would provide me a good range of platform for uplifting the downtrodden and underprivileged by making them well aware and conscious about the vision and mission of the government ”
His attachment to different files of the government has overridden sometimes his illness as said proudly by Dr. Akshaya Kumar Khemundu. The district of Malkangiri would always keep the contributions of Dr. Khemundu in glowing terms.
