Prasanta K Bishoyi (AGM, NF Times, 5/6) : Ekalabya Model Residential School, Konga in koraput district of Odisha received “the Prakruti Mitra Award ” from the forest and environment department of government of Odisha. The Principal in Charge of the School, Smt Jayanti Kumari Lenka received this prestigious award on behalf of the school from Mr. Pratip Kumar Amata, the honourable minister of forest, environment and Panchayat Raj department, government of Odisha.
On the occasion of World’s Environment Day, in a spectacular function held at State Convention Centre, Loksabha Bhavan, Bhubaneswar, the Prakruti Mitra award was conferred upon the educational institutions that have done tremendous works in giving a greenery look to the campus of the schools. After receiving the award, Smt. Lenka while expressing her views to our correspondent stated ” Our Ekalabya Model Residential School at konga have undertaken a lot of plantation drive that throws a beautiful look to the entire surrounding of the school ” Our Staff members are always committed to go for a greenery outlook following which they cooperate me in this pious mission, Smt Lenka added.
The DWO of koraput district Sri. Sunil kumar Tandi, who constantly encourages the staff members including the Principal Smt Lenka for creation of a healthy academic surrounding along with greenery ambience, congratulated the school and wished further achievement in future. The official members of the district including the WEO, Tahasildar and other staff members conveyed congratulations to the Principal for winning the Prakruti Mitra Award. A cash prize of twenty thousand with a certificate was given on this occasion.
