Indian men’s 10m air pistol shooting team bags bronze medal at ISSF World Championships 2023 – N.F Times




The Indian men’s 10m air pistol team comprising Shiva Narwal, Sarabjot Singh and Arjun Singh Cheema won a bronze medal at the ISSF World Championship 2023 in Baku, Azerbaijan on Thursday.

Shiva Narwal, with 579 points, top scored for India and was followed by Sarabjot Singh and Arjun Singh Cheema, who scored 578 and 577, respectively, for a combined score of 1734.

The People’s Republic of China won the gold medal with 1749 points while Germany’s score of 1743 points fetched them silver.

However, the scores of Indian shooters could not place them in the eight-man final in the men’s individual 10m air pistol. Shiva Narwal was the best-placed Indian at 17th followed by Sarabjot Singh at 18th and Arjun Singh Cheema at 26th in the field of 124.

The ISSF World Championship 2023 is a qualifying event for the Paris 2024 Olympics. A total of 48 Olympic quotas are on offer with the top four finishers in each of the 12 Olympic shooting events booking a place for their national teams.
