Bhubaneswar: Several districts of Odisha are likely to receive heavy rainfall today under the influence of a well marked low pressure area over northwest Bay of Bengal off north Odisha-West Bengal coasts, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasted.
“The Low Pressure Area over Northwest & adjoining Westcentral Bay of Bengal now lies as a Well Marked Low Pressure Area over Northwest Bay of Bengal off North Odisha-West Bengal coasts. It is likely to move across Odisha and Chhattisgarh during next 2 days,” the IMD said in its morning bulletin today.
The Regional Meteorological Centre here has issued Orange and Yellow warnings for many districts of the state for today.
Orange Warning: Heavy to very heavy rainfall (7 to 20 cm) very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Kalahandi, Nuapada, Bolangir, Bargarh, Kandhamal, Boudh, Sonepur, Sambalpur, Nawarangpur and Ganjam.
Yellow Warning: Heavy rainfall (7 to 11 cm) very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Nayagarh, Koraput, Malkangiri, Rayagada, Gajapati, Cuttack and Angul.
