Bhubaneswar: Due to prevalent monsoon trough and low pressure area, heavy to very heavy rainfall (7 to 20cm) very likely to occur at one or two places over two districts of Odisha during next 24 hours. India Meteorological Department (IMD) regional centre in Bhubaneswar today issued Orange Warning for the next 24 hours and Yellow Warning for a day thereafter.
In its mid-day bulletin, the IMD regional centre mentioned, “The Low Pressure Area over Southeast Jharkhand & neighbourhood with the associated cyclonic circulation extending upto 7.6 km above mean sea level tilting southwestwards with height persists. The Monsoon Trough at mean sea level now passes through Jaisalmer, Kota, Tikamgarh, Sidhi, centre of Low Pressure Area over Southeast Jharkhand, Digha and thence southeastwards to Eastcentral Bay of Bengal.”
Light to moderate rain/thundershower is very likely to occur at most places over the districts of North Odisha, South Interior Odisha and at many places over the districts of South Coastal Odisha. The highest maximum temperature of 32.6oC was recorded at Talcher and the lowest minimum temperature of 21.5oC was recorded at Phulbani in the plains of Odisha.

Orange Warning (Be Prepared)- Heavy to very heavy rainfall (7 to 20cm) is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh and Jharsuguda.
Yellow Warning (Be Updated)- Heavy rainfall (7 to 11cm) is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Nawarangpur, Nuapada, Kalahandi, Bolangir, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj.
For Friday (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 22.09.2023 to 0830 hrs IST of 23.09.2023)
Yellow Warning (Be Updated)- Heavy Rainfall (7 to 11cm) is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Sundargarh and Jharsuguda.
