Bhubaneswar: Relatives of a young doctor, who was killed in a road mishap in Bomikhal area of Odisha capital yesterday night, blamed the poor condition of the Rasulgarh-Kalpana Square road for the incident.

They claimed that deceased Amit Bisoyi’s car met with the mishap due to a huge pothole on the road.

Bisoyi (28), a native of Berhampur in Ganjam district, was working in a private hospital in the city here.

Bisoyi’s car collided with the divider at Bomikhal while he was travelling on Rasulgarh-Kalpana Square road yesterday night.

Bisoyi’s car was severely damaged in the mishap. He sustained grievous injuries in the incident and was rushed to a hospital in a critical condition. However, doctors declared him dead on arrival, sources said.

“Amit was working as a medicine specialist in a private hospital in the capital city. He was staying in Ravi Talkies area. He met with the mishap while returning home from the hospital around the midnight. We reached the spot soon after we were informed about the incident. We believe that Amit’s car collided with the divider due to a huge pothole on the road. We have heard that two persons were earlier killed in road mishap at the same place,” said Prasant Kumar Sahu, a relative.

Bisoyi was supposed to tie the knot in February next year. The ring ceremony was scheduled for December 10 this year, sources added.
