PhD scholar dies of dengue in Odisha – N.F Times



Bhubaneswar: A PhD scholar of Berhampur University in Odisha reportedly died of dengue today.

The deceased has been identified as Rajat Patel (30), son of Jatindra Patel, of Odisha’s Balangir town, sources said.

Rajat was pursuing PhD in Zoology at Berhampur University. He had recently qualified for Assistant Professor post in a recruitment examination conducted by the Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC), sources added.

Rajat had returned home soon after he was diagnosed with dengue at Berhampur a few days ago. He was rushed to Bhima Bhoi Medical Colleeg and Hospital at Balangir yesterday.

The PhD scholar was later shifted to a private hospital at Bargarh after his condition deteriorated. He died while being treated at the hospital at around 4 pm today, sources said.
