Bhubaneswar: A hotelier was attacked murderously by a group of miscreants allegedly over past enmity at Kalinga Vihar area in Bhubaneswar last night.
The victim has been identified as Sajan Samal.
The police recovered the CCTV footage showing the crime act.
According to reports, a group of miscreants entered the hotel at Kalinga Vihar under Bharatpur police limits last night and attacked Sajan Samal with swords and sticks.
“At 12 AM, around 20-25 barged into the hotel, hurled casteist remarks, and attacked me with swords. They pushed me from the 3-storey building,” Samal told reporters.
While the victim identified five people including the mastermind among the accused persons, the victim expressed that he did not know 20 others, who attacked him last night.
The injured hotelier alleged that Anant Samantray, Tapan Badajena, Malinga, Rajkumar aka Pandu and Udit Pradhan attacked him at the hotel.
He claimed that Anant Samantray was behind the conspiracy against him.
He said that he had earlier lodged a complaint against the accused persons at the Mancheswar Police Station.
“As the police did not take any action against them based on my earlier complaint, they targeted me,” Samal said.
