Sundargarh: A car ran over two youths killing them on the spot near Jharamunda village under Badagaon police limits in Odisha’s Sundargarh district, today.
According to reports, the two youths of the village were crossing road in the morning, during which a speeding car mowed them down. The two sustained critical injuries and died on the road.
The deceased were identified as Sambaru Sahu and Khirod Pruseth.
Tension ran high at the place after the accident as irate locals placed the bodies on road and staged road blockade demanding compensation for the kin of the deceased.
Vehicular movement on the road was affected due to the incident. Police later reached the spot and tried to pacify the locals.
On the other hand, the driver of the car fled the place after the road mishap. However, he was later nabbed by the police.
