Bhawanipatna: Villagers of Trilochanpur in Odisha’s Kalahandi district today opposed the visit of Lanjigarh MLA Pradip Kumar Dishari to the area, forcing the legislator to return without inaugurating projects.
While the MLA was heading towards the locality to inaugurate a hostel and a park, the villagers intercepted his carcade and sought reply from him over lack of proper road in the area. The locals demanded that he should first repair the roads and later inaugurate the projects.
As they blocked the path and didn’t allow the legislator to move ahead, he had to leave the place without attending the inauguration ceremony.
“The area lacks basic facilities. There is no proper road connectivity. Though we had drawn the attention of the district administration towards the issue multiple times, it has not been resolved yet. As a mark of protest towards the lack of development, we stopped the MLA from entering the village,” a local said.
“The legislator is paying visit to villages to inaugurate projects only due to the upcoming elections,” he added.
