Kantabanji: The Zilla Sangharsh Samiti, a local outfit, is today observing a 12-hour bandh in Odisha’s Kantabanji demanding district status for the region.
Shops, business establishments, offices and educational institutions remained closed in view of the bandh.
However, vehicular movement was unaffected.
Members of the outfit staged demonstration at the Indira Chhak here holding banners. More than 20 organizations have extended support to the bandh call.
The agitators have decided to send a memorandum to the Chief Minister regarding their demand.
