Bhadrak: Properties worth lakhs of rupees were reduced to ashes as a major fire engulfed as many as 15 shops at Rathapada Market under Basudevpur block of Odisha’s Bhadrak district, late last night.
According to reports, the fire initially broke out at a shop in the market and later spread to nearby shops.
The intensity of the blaze was so severe that the shopkeepers were unable to take the goods outside the shops.
On being informed, Fire Services personnel rushed to the spot and doused the flames.
The reason behind the outbreak of fire was yet to be ascertained.
