Sonepur: In a tragic incident, an elderly woman was electrocuted while cleaning her house for the occasion of Manabasa Gurubara at Rahila village under Binika police limits in Odisha’s Sonepur district.
The deceased was identified as Basan Naik (65).
According to reports, the woman came in contact with an electric wire during the cleaning work and received shock.
She was rescued in a critical condition and rushed to Binika Community Health Centre, where she was declared dead by doctor.
Police have recovered the body for post-mortem and started investigation into the incident.
A pall of gloom descended on the village after the demise of the woman.
