Koraput: A woman died after a boat with five persons including two minor girls on board capsized in a river in Odisha’s Koraput district today.
The deceased and victims were from Tansing village under Nandapur Block in Koraput.
The Nandapur fire services personnel and an ODRAF team were pressed into action for the rescue operation of victims.
According to reports, three women Lalmani Sisa (23), Sasirekha Alarb (24) Nabina Alarb (25) along with two minor girls had been to Badela village to attend a wedding event. While returning to their village on a country boat, it capsized in the Patali River.
While one body was found floating in the river a few minutes after the boat capsized, efforts are underway to trace other missing persons.
