It’ll be a straight fight with BJD in Odisha: BJP – N.F Times

Bhubaneswar: BJP is poised for a straight fight with the ruling BJD in Odisha in the upcoming 2024 General Elections, said saffron leaders divulging its fresh strategies after a meeting of senior office-bearers held at the party’s Bhubaneswar office today.

“The real fight will begin after January 5, 2024. Every party worker will be assigned to reach out to a household at the grassroots level. As the Congress party is mostly not in the race, the BJP-BJD fight will be ‘one-to-one’. BJP has no sort of alliance with BJD in the State. We will focus on obtaining 50 per cent of the total votes. This was emphasised by our party’s Central leaders present in the meeting,” senior BJP leader from Western Odisha Jayanarayan Mishra asserted.

Echoing a similar view, Bhubaneswar BJP MP Aparajita Sarangi stated, “Our party will have no alliance with the ruling party in the upcoming Assembly elections. This was made clear by our party’s Odisha Observer Sunil Bansal in the morning. We will, under no circumstance, have any alliance with BJD in the days ahead. Odisha will witness a tough fight between BJD and BJP in 2024 General Elections.”

Notably, BJP announced that it would field its candidates in all 147 Assembly and 21 Lok Sabha seats in the State in the 2024 General Elections.

BJP national General Secretary (organisation) BL Santhosh, central Observer Bansal, assistant Observer Vijaypal Singh Tomar, and Odisha unit chief Manmohan Samal along with several other senior leaders of the party took part in the meeting of BJP district unit observers and presidents.
