‘Ama Odisha’ collects over 55,000 units of blood in 2023 – N.F Times



Bhubaneswar: As many as 55,075 units of blood were collected through the ‘Ama Odisha’ initiative of Sambad Group in 2023.

At least 1,110 blood donation camps were organised in 314 blocks of Odisha under the Ama Odisha initiative in 2023.

The Balasore edition of Sambad collected the highest 12,783 units of blood by holding at least 282 donation camps throughout the year.

The Cuttack edition of Sambad collected 10,911 units of blood by holding 177 donation camps. Similarly, Sambalpur edition of the Odia Daily managed to collect 8,663 units of blood from 193 camps while Berhampur edition collected 6,336 units by holding 113 camps in 2023.

Altogether 54,741 units of blood had been collected through the Ama Odisha initiative in 2022 while the number was 41,506 in 2021.

The Sambad Group, the largest media house in Odisha, meanwhile thanked the people of Odisha and the volunteers for the collection of record number of blood units in 2023.

The media house has been conducting the noble work for the last 18 years.
