Yellow Warning for dense fog: SRC asks District Collectors to help prevent road accidents in Odisha – N.F Times


Bhubaneswar: In the wake of a yellow alert for dense fog issued today by the IMD regional centre in several Odisha districts for the next three days, the Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) wrote to Collectors, police, and transport officials of respective districts to take immediate steps to prevent road accidents.

The officials concerned may take adequate steps for controlled plying of vehicles on highways during dense fog to avert any road mishap, the Odisha SRC emphasised in his official communiqué.

Worth mentioning, the IMD in its mid-day bulletin mentioned:

For Wednesday (Valid up to 0830 hrs IST of 04.01.2024)

Shallow to moderate fog is very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of South Coastal Odisha, Sundargarh, Deogarh, Sambalpur, Subarnapur, Bolangir, Bargarh, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Nabarangpur and at one or two places over the rest districts of Odisha.

Yellow Warning: Dense fog is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Deogarh, Jharsuguda, Malkangiri, Koraput, Kandhamal, Nabarangpur, Khurda, Cuttack, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Puri, Dhenkanal, Subarnapur and Sambalpur.

For Thursday (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 04.01.2024 to 0830 hrs IST of 05.01.2024)

Shallow to moderate fog is very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Mayurbhanj, Khurda, Puri, Angul, Boudh, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Koraput and one or two places over the rest districts of Odisha.

Yellow Warning: Dense fog is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Angul, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Nayagarh, Khurda, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Rayagada, Koraput, Subarnapur, Bolangir, Sambalpur and Boudh.

For Friday (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 05.01.2024 to 0830 hrs IST of 06.01.2024)

Shallow to moderate fog is very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of Koraput, Malkangiri, Rayagada, Gajapati, Nabarangpur, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Ganjam, Puri, Nayagarh, and at one or two places over the rest districts of Interior Odisha.

Yellow Warning: Dense fog is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Mayurbhanj, Khurda, Puri, Angul, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Gajapati, Ganjam and Nayagarh.
