Odisha: Nilgiri-Balasore new MEMU train flagged off – N.F Times


A survey has started for the Nilgiri-Betnoti new railway line and a DPR has been made for the Jaleswar-Chandaneswar railway line: Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw.


Balasore: Minister of Railways Ashwini Vaishnaw today flagged off Gopinathpur Nilgiri-Balasore new MEMU train service, dedicating the Balasore-Gopinathpur Nilgiri passenger line in Odisha’s Balasore district.

The Gopinathpur Nilgiri-Balasore new MEMU train has eight bogies including a special compartment for women passengers. With the inauguration of a new passenger line between Nilgiri and Balasore, people of that area will avail passenger train services.

Three MEMU trains will run on this route daily, the Minister stated.

Prior to the programme, Vaishnaw offered prayer at Khirachora Gopinath Temple in Remuna in the district. After a discussion with the temple committee members, he announced Rs 50 lakh assistance for Khirachora Yatri Niwas. Later, he addressed a huge gathering at a public meeting in Remuna.

Revealing about Railways’ future plans for Balasore district, he announced that a Railway Overbridge will be constructed at Khantapada.

Besides, a survey has started for Nilgiri-Betnoti railway line and a DPR has been created for Jaleswar-Chandaneswar new railway line in the district, he said.
