Keonjhar: A journey to seek blessings of Maa Tarini ended on a tragic note after an infant died on the spot and four other persons suffered critical injuries in a road mishap at Turumunga in Odisha’s Keonjhar district here today.
As per reports, former sarpanch of Kantiapada Kanak Lata Mahanta along with family had gone to seek blessings at Maa Tarini temple in Ghatagaon after a wish for their son had come true. They were returning in a private ambulance when the vehicle lost balance and rammed into a tree, just 2 km away from their home.
While the one and half-year old child died on the spot, four others suffered serious injuries. On getting information, police reached the spot and started investigation. A case has been registered.
