Five killed as scooter, motorcycle collide head-on in Odisha’s Ganjam – N.F Times



Berhampur: A head-on collision between a scooter and a motorcycle near Kesaripatana under Sorada police limits in Odisha’s Ganjam district last night killed at least five persons and left another critically injured.

As per reports, the mishap took place at around 11.20 pm when the scooter carrying three staffers of electricity department and the motorcycle on which three men were travelling collided.

While four of them died on the spot under the impact of the collision, another person was declared dead at hospital.

The deceased were identified as Srikanta Gouda of Asurabandha, Manoj Dakua of Dulada, Mahendra Nayak of Gopalpursasan, Jayant Batatya of Sorada and Rajani Gouda of Sanasorada.

The injured one, identified as Purna Gouda, was initially treated at Sorada Hospital and later shifted to MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur for better treatment.

Police have started investigation into the incident.
