Bhubaneswar: Renowned sand artist from Odisha, Sudarsan Pattnaik, has crafted a massive sand sculpture of Lord Ram at Ayodhya ahead of the consecration of Ram Lalla idol on January 22.
Pattnaik and seven of his students have crafted the 55-foot-long, 23-foot-tall and 35-foot-wide sculpture at Ram Katha Park near Saryu river at Ayodhya in Uttar Pradesh.
The renowned sand artist has decorated the sculpture with 500 miniature replicas of Ayodhya Ram Mandir.
The sculpture was recognized as the world’s largest sand sculpture of Lord Ram by the World Records Book of India today.
Pattnaik has depicted Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on either side of the sand sculpture.
The Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister, who visited the Ram Katha Park today, was seen taking selfie with the sand sculpture. He also posed for photos in front of the sculpture.
“We have crafted the massive sand sculpture to celebrate the consecration of Ram Lalla idol at Ayodhya temple. The sculpture has been decorated with 500 miniature replicas of the magnificent Ram Mandir. It took us two days to craft the sculpture,” Pattnaik said.
