Bhubaneswar: Actor-turned-politician Anubhav Mohanty on Wednesday received decree of divorce after ten years of marriage with actress Varsha Priyadarshini.
Taking to microblogging platform X, Mohanty shared a photo of the court order describing the ten years of marriage as worthless, meaningless, heartless, painful and false.
“Thanks all who prayed for me & my family’s peace. Got my decree of divorce today, which is just a day before the completion of 10 worthless/ meaningless/ heartless/ painful & above all, false marital years of my false marriage! I pray for her happiness. No Offence.” Mohanty posted.
The Orissa High Court had on December 21 allowed the divorce of the celebrity couple. Hearing a petition filed by Mohanty challenging the verdict of Family Court, Cuttack, the High Court quashed the lower court’s order.
The Family Court had on September 22 rejected Mohanty’s divorce petition. It had also rejected the plea for restitution of conjugal rights filed by Varsha.
Mohanty had then moved the High Court on October 17 challenging the Family Court’s verdict.
The actor had alleged that Varsha refused for consummation of their marriage and caused mental cruelty to him by her conduct towards him and his family members.
