Bhubaneswar: Unidentified miscreants allegedly attacked a journalist with sword in VSS Nagar area of Odisha capital, last night.
The victim, identified as Jyotiranjan Mohapatra, was admitted to the Capital Hospital for treatment.
“I was heading towards my home on a vehicle when four persons started to follow me on two motorcycles. Later, they came closer and swung a sword at me. As I fell down, they attacked me with the sword and fled the spot,” said Mohapatra.
“I had never seen the persons who attacked me. I don’t have any enmity with them. I have no idea regarding the possible reason behind the attack,” he added.
The journalist sustained injuries on his head and hand. He was rescued and rushed to the Capital Hospital.
The Mancheswar Police have started investigation into the matter while efforts were on by the cops to identify and nab the attackers.
