Chhattisgarh tourist bus overturns at Taptapani Ghati in Odisha’s Ganjam, 2 critical – N.F Times



Berhampur: As many as six persons sustained grievous injuries today evening after a private tourist bus turned turtle at Palakhola locality on Taptapani Ghati road under Patapur police limits in Ganjam district. However, the health condition of two passengers among them is said to be critical now.

Identities of the injured persons have not been ascertained yet, a senior policeman said.

According to a source, a private tourist bus named ‘Bhubaneswari’ was on its way from neighbouring Chhattisgarh to Puri in Odisha when the accident took place. Driver of the ill-fated vehicle lost control of it and overturned. About six of the passengers on board were injured in the incident.

On being informed, Patapur police reached the spot and with the help of some locals and fire services personnel rescued the injured. The injured were sent to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Besides, vehicular movement was completely disrupted following the road mishap. Hundreds of vehicles have been stranded as rescue operation was underway till the time when this report was filed.
