Yellow Warning: Dense fog, thunderstorm, lightning, hailstone likely to occur in Odisha districts on February 16 – N.F Times


Bhubaneswar: With cyclonic circulation lying over central parts of Chhattisgarh & neighbourhood, dense fog, thunderstorm, lightning, hailstone are likely to occur at one or two places over Odisha districts during next 24 hours, India Meteorological Department (IMD) regional centre forecasted today.

In its mid-day bulletin, the IMD said, “Minimum temperatures observed appreciable fall at one or two places over the districts of North Interior Odisha and no large change at elsewhere over the districts of Odisha. They were appreciably below normal at one or two places over the districts of Interior Odisha, appreciably above normal at one or two places over the districts of Interior Odisha, above normal at many places over the districts of Interior Odisha, at one or two places over the districts of Coastal Odisha, below normal at a few places over the districts of Coastal Odisha and normal at elsewhere over the districts of Odisha.”

Temperature forecast: No major change in minimum (night) temperature during next 4-5 days at many places over the districts of Odisha.

The highest maximum temperature of 35.0°C was recorded at Bhawanipatna and Titilagarh. The lowest minimum temperature of 14.5°C was recorded at Phulbani in the plains of Odisha.

For Thursday (Valid up to 0830 hrs IST of 16.02.2024)

Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Interior Odisha, Balasore, Bhadrak and dry weather is very likely to prevail over the rest districts of Odisha.

Yellow Warning (Be Updated):

Dense fog is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Cuttack, Angul, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Kandhamal and Boudh.

Thunderstorm with lightning along with hailstone is likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Sambalpur and Deogarh.

For Friday (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 16.02.2024 to 0830 hrs IST of 17.02.2024)

Dry weather is very likely to prevail over the districts of Odisha.

Dense fog is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Kalahandi, Koraput and Nabarangpur.
