Bhubaneswar: In commemoration of the Silver Jubilee of BIITM, a blood donation camp was organised on Friday and Saturday where 90 units were collected. The event was organised in association with Young Indians.
The programme was inaugurated by distinguished dignitaries present on the dais, Prof. Amiya Kumar Rath, Vice Chancellor, BPUT, Odisha, Prof. (Dr.) Damodar Acharya, Former Director, IIT Kharagpur, Prof. Premendu P. Mathur, Vice Chancellor, Birla Global University, Bhubaneswar, Prof. Mihir Ranjan Nayak, Prinicpal, BIITM, Prof. P.R. Pattanayak, Advisor (Academics), BIITM and Dr. Surjit Kumar Kar, Dean, BIITM.
In his address, Chief Guest Prof. Amiya Kumar Rath emphasised that students should be at the core of the institute and the role of students as assets to the institute. Chief Speaker, Prof. P.P Mathur motivated the institute to continue its glorious feat for next 25 years. The Silver Jubilee Souvenier was released on the occasion.
Prof. Damodar Acharya and Padmashri Dillip Tirkey were felicitated with the ‘Ananya Sanmam’ by BIITM. Trust members, Corporate Leaders, Gold Medalists, Alumni and employees of BIITM, who had served for more than 10 years were also felicitated for their hardwork, dedication and continuous cooperation.
On the second day (Saturday) of Silver Jubilee, BIITM organised International conference ‘ICMESG-2024’ in association with ORSI. The theme of the conference was “Managerial Excellence and Sustainable Growth: IT and Operational Issue”.
The programme was inaugurated by distinguished dignitaries present on the dais, including Jagadananda, Mentor and Co-Founder, CYSD, Bhubaneswar, Pankaj Satija, MD, Tata Steel Mining, Prof. Saranjit Singh, Vice- Chancellor, KIIT University, Bhubaneswar, Prof. R N Subudhi, Secretary, ORSI.
The Book of Abstracts and ORSI Newsletter was released by distinguished luminaries.
Jagadananda emphasised higher education institutes should focus on talents who are socially responsible. In his speech, MD, TATA Steel Mining, advised the delegates and students to be constant learners and to be ethically committed to the duties they are assigned to. He even talked on SDG and role of teachers and students in Education 4.O.
A Plenary Session was chaired by Prof. (Dr.) Tapan Panda, Pro VC, KIIT and the panel comprised of Monika Nayyar Patnaik, MD, Sambad Group, Prof. Anill Bajpai, Vice Chancellor, JK University and Bibhu Prasad Mishra, Vice President, JSPL.
Thereafter technical sessions were held both physically and virtually where participants were from 16 different countries. The themes were leadership, strategic management.
The valedictory session was presided over by Chief Speaker, Prof. Ramesh Behl, Director, IMI, Meenu Patnaik, Director, Jyote Group, Litisha Mangat Panda, Head of Business – Digital, OTV Network.
The Silver Jubilee celebration came to an end with a spectacular cultural extravaganza showcasing multitudes of talents by the students of BIITM.
