Bhubaneswar: Odisha Congress will announce the tickets on March 1 for the forthcoming elections 2024.
The party will release a list of 70 candidates for many assembly constituencies in the first phase, informed Odisha PCC President Sarat Pattanayak
at a presser after the Pradesh Election Committee (PEC) meeting here today.
The PEC meeting was held today to discuss the distribution of tickets among the aspirants for the ensuing elections ahead of the schedule. All 23 members of the PEC attended the meeting.
According to reports, a total of 3000 aspirants have applied online for the assembly tickets from Congress while the number of applicants for Lok Sabha elections was 700 on the Pragaman portal.
We had a discussion in detail about offering tickets to candidates from which constituencies in Odisha. The AICC members were also present at the meeting. The final list of candidates will be presented before the Screening Committee in Delhi. The AICC will take a final call, Pattanayak said.
The state unit of Congress had launched ‘Project Pragaman’ portal inviting aspirants to apply online for the upcoming assembly and parliament elections. The portal remained open from February 4 to 11.
