Odisha CM directs to withdraw over 48,000 cases against tribals – N.F Times



Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today directed to withdraw as many as 48,018 minor cases against people belonging to Scheduled Tribes in the state.

The CM had earlier directed the Home, Excise and Forest & Environment departments to review the cases against the tribals.

After detailed examination, it was decided to withdraw 48,018 cases of the departments.

Out of the total cases, 36581 are of Excise Department, 9846 of Home Department and 1591 of Forest & Environment Department.

The withdrawal of the cases is expected to lessen the caseload on the judiciary in the state.
