Bhubaneswar: In a spiritually enriching ceremony, the Odia version of ‘Where There Is Light’ by Sri Sri Paramahansa Yogananda, known as ‘Aalokara Sandhane’ was unveiled extending the profound wisdom and practical guidance of Yoganandaji to the Odia-speaking community, at TTD Kalyana Mandapam here on Wednesday.
About 300 YSS members and spiritual seekers participated in the event.
This momentous event was part of a larger spiritual gathering, with Suresh Mahapatra, IAS (Retd.) Chief Advisor to CMO, Odisha as the chief guest. Organized by the Yogoda Satsanga Society of India (YSS), the event was dedicated to spreading the life-transforming teachings of Founder and Gurudeva Sri Sri Paramahansa Yogananda, the revered author of the spiritual classic ‘Autobiography of a Yogi’.
The release was celebrated in the presence of esteemed YSS monastics, Swamis Shraddhananda Giri and Achyutananda Giri, and Brahmachari Nirliptananda. Swami Shraddhananda, during his talk on Finding Joy in Daily Life, elucidated how ‘Aalokara Sandhane’ provides a wealth of practical guidance and inspiration for those seeking greater happiness and fulfilment. He emphasized that the joy described by Yoganandaji, born of meditation, can remain steadfast even amidst the “crash of breaking worlds”.
Suresh Mahapatra highlighted Yoganandaji’s words, “Self-realization is the knowing—in body, mind, and soul-that we are one with the omnipresence of God; that we do not have to pray that it come to us, that we are not merely near it at all times, but that God’s omnipresence is our omnipresence; that we are just as much a part of Him now as we ever will be. All we have to do is improve our knowing”.
The topics addressed in the book are especially pertinent to modern-day challenges and are designed to aid seekers in mastering life’s decisions, overcoming fear and stress, and cultivating a deep personal relationship with God.
The ceremony was not just a book launch, but a thrust to help mankind to integrate scientific practices in our daily life. It is easy to feel overwhelmed by the stress and pressures of everyday life and become distracted by the expectations placed upon us by others and society. But the teachings of YSS emphasizes that we already have inside of us everything we need for ultimate peace, security, and happiness.
To tap into this hidden wellspring, all we need to do is cultivate a daily meditation practice following the scientific and universal path of yoga taught by Yogoda Satsanga Society of India.
Paramahansa Yogananda said, “If you are one of those who are really thirsty to solve your individual problems, or the universal human problem of understanding the mystery of life, learn and follow the teachings of Yogoda Satsanga Society of India (Self-Realization Fellowship) — the scientific spiritual teachings of India, handed down by her illumined seers and sages from time immemorial. Therein you will find the answers”.
