Coalition talks fail! BJP to go solo in 2024 polls in Odisha – N.F Times



Bhubaneswar: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will fight the upcoming simultaneous Lok Sabha and Assembly elections in Odisha alone, said party’s state unit president Manmohan Samal today.

Samal said this upon his arrival from New Delhi after meeting senior leaders of BJP today.

“I had gone to Delhi to discuss various aspects of our preparation for the upcoming twin polls in Odisha. There was no discussion regarding forging an alliance with any party in the state. The BJP will fight the Lok Sabha and Assembly polls in Odisha alone,” said Samal.

Samal further said the BJP leadership had convened a meeting at New Delhi take stock of party’s preparation for the twin polls in Odisha. “We held discussions to chalk out our strategy to win the Assembly polls in Odisha and retain power at the Centre,” he added.

A few days ago, leaders of ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) in Odisha as well as the Opposition BJP had hinted at an alliance between the two parties ahead of the 2024 polls.

The BJP had announced that it would take appropriate decision in this regard while keeping in mind the interests of people of Odisha.

The state-level BJP leaders had then revealed that they would obey the decision taken by the party’s central leadership regarding an alliance with the BJD in Odisha.
