IMD predicts rain, thundershower activities in these Odisha districts during March 14-17 – N.F Times

Bhubaneswar: With a trough running from east Vidarbha to interior Odisha and a cyclonic circulation over south Odisha and neighbourhood becoming less marked, light to moderate rain or thundershowers are very likely to occur at one or two places over some districts of Odisha, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) regional centre in Bhubaneswar forecasted today.

In its mid-day bulletin, the IMD centre said, “Maximum temperatures observed appreciable fall at one or two places over the districts of South Coastal Odisha, appreciable rise at one or two places over the districts of Interior Odisha and no large change at elsewhere over the districts of Odisha. They were below normal at a few places over the districts of Coastal Odisha and at one or two places over the districts of Interior Odisha, above normal at one or two places over the districts of Coastal Odisha and normal at elsewhere over the districts of Odisha.”

Temperature forecast: Maximum (day) temperature is likely to gradually rise by 4-6°C during next 3 to 4 days and no large change thereafter. The Minimum (night) temperature is likely to rise by 2-4°C during next 3 days and no large change thereafter at many places over the districts of Odisha.

The highest maximum temperature of 37.4°C was recorded at Malkangiri and the lowest minimum temperature of 15.4°C was recorded at Rourkela in the plains of Odisha.

For Sunday (Valid up to 0830 hrs IST of 11.03.2024)

Light to moderate rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Kandhamal and dry weather is very likely to prevail over the rest districts of Odisha.

For Monday (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 11.03.2024 to 0830 hrs IST of 12.03.2024)

Dry weather is very likely to prevail over the districts of Odisha.
