Bhubaneswar: Nandankanan Zoological Park (NZP) in Odisha capital here today launched ‘Night Out at Zoo’, an innovative educational programme for wildlife enthusiasts.
Under the programme, a total of 20 wildlife enthusiasts will be taken around the zoo at night. The participants will have the opportunity to observe the nocturnal behaviour of the animals at NZP, sources said.
The Night Out at Zoo programme will be conducted from 6.30 pm to 8 pm on every Sunday. The zoo authorities will charge Rs 250 from each of the participants.
“If you are interested in knowing about the nocturnal behaviour of animals, the Night Out at Zoo is a great opportunity for you. Volunteers will take you around Nandankanan. The programme will be organised only on Sundays and it is limited to 20 people only,” said Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (wildlife) Susanta Nanda in a Twitter (X) post.

The participants of the programme will be taken around the zoo in battery-operated vehicles. No one will be allowed to click photos or record videos of the animals during the programme, NZP sources said.
