Odisha CM inaugurates state’s longest flyover, bridge – N.F Times


Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today inaugurated state’s longest flyover and bridge and laid the foundation stone of three developmental projects.

The 3-km long flyover, which is the longest flyover of Odisha, has been built at an expense of Rs 258.78 Crore at Joda in Keonjhar district. CM Patnaik dedicated it to the people of Odisha during a video conferencing programme here.

He inaugurated a 3-km-long Odisha’s longest bridge which has been constructed at a cost of Rs 159.31 Crore over Mahanadi River on the Athamallik-Dhalpur road.

He also inaugurated the much-awaited 762-meter-long railway overbridge that has been built at a cost of Rs 105 Crore at Jatni in Khordha district, 600-metre long bridge constructed at expenditure of Rs 45.84 Crore over Tel River on Rakdor-Fasad Road, a bridge built at cost of Rs 71.59 Crore over the Mahandadi River on Boudh-Marjyakuda Link Road and renovated Harishankar Temple in Balangir.

The CM also laid foundation stone for the development of Achyutananda Peeth at Nemal in Cuttack district, Maa Ugratara Shakti Peeth in Khordha district and for construction of a bridge over the Mahanadi River on Baunsuni-Birmaharajpur Link Road in Boudh district.

Speaking at the programme, Patnaik said, “These projects executed under supervision of 5T will play a vital role in development of tourism and infrastructure in Odisha.”

The famous Harishankar Temple in Balangir district has been transformed under the Integrated Development of Heritage and Monuments and Tourism Destination scheme. With the development of the shrine, it will help the locals in their economic development and provide the best service to tourists visiting there, the CM said.

He added that culture is the identity of a nation. It is the moral responsibility of all of us to protect it.

On the foundation stone laying ceremony of Achyutananda Peeth and Ugratara Peeth, CM Patnaik hoped that development of these shrines would further strengthen the spiritualism.

Stating that the people’s support in the journey of development, he exhorted all to continue their cooperation for building a new empowered Odisha.
