Bhubaneswar: BMC sanitary workers withdraw cease-work strike – N.F Times

Bhubaneswar: Agitating sanitary workers of the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) today withdrew the cease-work protest, which was being staged by them demanding fulfillment of two demands.

The sanitary workers held a meeting with BMC Mayor Sulochana Das at her residence here, following which they decided to call off the strike.

However, they have warned of resuming the agitation if their demands are not met in two days.

Notably, the sanitary workers have been demanding increase in their salary to Rs 15,000 and no involvement in waste segregation work.

Sanitation services in many wards of the city were disrupted to the strike.
