Bhubaneswar: A patient reportedly sustained injuries after pieces of concrete from the roof of a hospital in Odisha’s Keonjhar district fell on him today.
The incident took place at the male ward of Anandapur Sub-Divisional Hospital in Keonjhar.
The patient identified as Rajesh, a resident of Dhenka area under Soso police limits in Keonjhar, was admitted to the hospital for some illness yesterday.
Concrete pieces from the roof of the male ward at the hospital fell on Rajesh during blood transfusion today. Rajesh sustained injuries on his head and received a few stitches as well.
The locals, meanwhile, claimed that the administration had renovated the hospital by spending around Rs 4 crore around a month ago. They blamed sub-standard work for the incident.
“We admitted our son to the hospital to get rid of his health issues. But, our son sustained injuries on his head as concrete pieces fell off the hospital roof. The authorities should take the incident seriously and take immediate steps to avoid similar incidents in future,” said Rajesh’s father.
