In a tragic incident, an Indian couple drowned while at Kirinda Beach near Hambantota in southern Sri Lanka, police said on Wednesday.
According to preliminary investigations, the deceased were identified as a 35-year-old male and a 33-year-old female. Both were Indian nationals and were a married couple. They visited Sri Lanka to spend their holiday with family.
“The incident occurred on Tuesday during a visit to Sri Lanka with their family at Kirinda Beach,” a local news report said. However, the Lankan Police did not inform about the identities of the victims.
