Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi, the Chief of the Naval Staff of the Indian Navy, paid homage to the martyrs of the Bangladesh Armed Forces, who laid down their lives during the Liberation War of Bangladesh, at the Shikha Anirban in Dhaka on Monday, 1st July 2024. Admiral Tripathi is on a four-day official visit to Bangladesh.

In the afternoon, Admiral Tripathi engaged in bilateral talks with Admiral M Nazmul Hassan, his Bangladeshi counterpart and the Chief of the Naval Staff of the Bangladesh Navy, at the Naval Headquarters in Dhaka.
During their meeting, the Naval Chiefs discussed the enduring and strong relationship between the two countries and their navies, as well as initiatives to further maritime cooperation. They also explored opportunities for capacity building and capability enhancement, including coordinated operations to strengthen interoperability in the maritime domain.
