Madhya Pradesh: The Madhya Pradesh Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) has apprehended a man for having a connection with the banned terrorist organisation Indian Mujahideen (IM). The arrest took place early Thursday morning at the suspect’s residence in Khandwa district.

The accused, identified as Faizan (34), a resident of Kanjar Mohalla in Saluja Colony, Khandwa, was taken into custody following a raid by the ATS. During the operation, authorities seized a significant amount of potentially incriminating material, including Jihadi literature related to IM, ISIS, and other terrorist organisations. Four mobile phones, a pistol, and five live cartridges were also recovered from the scene.

Inspector General of MP ATS, Dr. Ashish, stated that the arrest was part of a statewide initiative to adopting zero tolerance towards terrorist and anti-national activities, following directives from Chief Minister Mohan Yadav. “We have registered a case against Faizan under various sections of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967,” Dr. Ashish confirmed.

Further investigation revealed that the suspect’s mobile devices contained videos and photos linked to various terrorist groups, including Indian Mujahideen, ISIS, Jaish-e-Mohammed, and Lashkar-e-Taiba. Membership forms of the Students’ Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) were also discovered during the raid.

According to the ATS, Faizan allegedly used his social media accounts, particularly Facebook, to propagate extremist ideologies and share content related to terrorist organisations. This included videos of Mujahideen training camps in Pakistan, speeches of Masood Azhar (Jaish-e-Mohammed) Lashkar-e-Taiba, story of Kandahar plane hijacking, statements of Mullah Omar and posts related to Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind (AGH) were being circulated through social media, an officer said.
