Padma Shri Kamala Pujari Hospitalised Again – N.F Times


Bhubaneswar: Padma Shri awardee Kamala Pujari has been admitted to the hospital again due to health complications.

The 73-year-old tribal lady from Koraput, acclaimed for her contributions to organic farming and conservation of native paddy varieties, was taken to Jeypore District Headquarters Hospital on Tuesday.

Her condition is currently stable.

She is under the care of a medical team comprising Dr RN Mishra, Dr Sunil Bhatra, and Dr Muktikant Khatua. Jeypore BDO Shakti Mohapatra and assistant engineer Bishwa Nath Patra have visited her to check on her health status.

Previously, she was hospitalized at Cuttack SCB Medical College and Hospital in January and March due to health declines.

Kamala Pujari is renowned for her pioneering work in organic agriculture and the preservation of heirloom paddy seeds, earning her multiple accolades, including the prestigious Padma Shri.

Her current health concerns are linked to her advanced age, leading to persistent health issues. The hospital staff has committed to providing her with the utmost care.
