Ex-CM Naveen Urges Bengal CM Mamata to Ensure Smooth Supply of Potatoes to Odisha – N.F Times

Bhubaneswar: Former Odisha Chief Minister and BJD President Naveen Patnaik on Friday urged West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee to ensure the smooth supply of potatoes to Odisha.

Patnaik, in a letter to the West Bengal CM, apprised that there has been a short supply of potatoes in Odisha, resulting in an artificial price hike, adding to the suffering of the common people.

The BJD Supremo mentioned that on similar occasions in the past, Banerjee’s noble gestures have earned the love and affection of the people of Odisha. He also noted that “the people of Odisha and West Bengal share strong cultural bonds and we are all devotees of Mahaprabhu Sri Jagannath”.

Patnaik wrote that he learned from the media about long queues of trucks loaded with potatoes waiting at the Odisha-West Bengal border. He requested Banerjee to kindly intervene in the matter and ensure the smooth supply of potatoes to Odisha.
