Kalki 2898 AD box office collection now just Rs 15 cr shy of beating SRK’s Jawan – N.F Times

Kalki 2898 AD, starring Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan and Deepika Padukone, has had a fantastic run at the box office.

The film completed four weeks in cinemas on Friday, having emerged as the year’s biggest hit, and one of the biggest Indian blockbusters of all time. In its four-week run in cinemas, Kalki 2898 AD has managed to cross the staggering Rs 625 crore mark at the domestic box office. According to early estimates by Sacnilk, Kalki 2898 AD earned Rs 1.25 crore on its 30th day of release, taking its nett total to Rs 625.1 crore.

In its fourth week in cinemas, Kalki 2898 AD raked in Rs 7.5 crore in Telugu, Rs 1.46 crore in Tamil, Rs 13.9 crore in Hindi, Rs 36 lakh in Kannada and Rs 1.18 crore in Malayalam languages, taking its fourth-week total earnings to Rs 24.4 crore.

The Prabhas and Deepika Padukone starrer recently became the sixth Indian film to cross the Rs 1000 crore gross mark in its worldwide earnings and overtook Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan (2023), which is now seventh on the list.

According to the makers of Kalki 2898 AD, Vyjayanthi Films, the worldwide earnings of the film stands at Rs 1,100 crore (Pathaan’s gross box office collection in its time in cinemas was Rs 1,050.3 crore) as of earlier this week. With this, Prabhas continues to prove that he is one of the biggest Indian stars of this generation after a series of box office duds following Baahubali 2 raised questions about his bankability.

Kalki 2898 AD has now entered its fifth week in cinemas, and with no major competition from Indian films, it is expected to continue to run successfully. It’s still unclear if the Prabhas starrer can break SRK’s Jawan at the global box office. The movie ended its run with around Rs 1160 crore last year and made Rs 640 crore in India. Kalki 2898 AD is just Rs 15 crore shy of overtaking its domestic record. Prabhas’ Baahubali 2 grossed over Rs 1700 crore globally.
