Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Vigilance today caught the Block Development Officer (BDO) of Golamunda in Kalahandi with ‘ill-gotten’ cash to the tune of Rs 5 lakh.
Based on credible inputs regarding collection of huge bribe amount by Golamunda BDO, Akhyamita Kartik, OAS, and her movement towards her native place in Koraput, a team of Odisha Vigilance intercepted her on Friday late evening.
The Vigilance sleuths intercepted BDO Kartik near Jaring in between Bhawanipatna-Junagarh and seized approximately Rs 5 lakhs cash from her possession.
“She is being interrogated to ascertain the source of funds while searches have been launched at her locations in Koraput and Kalahandi,” the Vigilance said.
Notably, earlier, the woman OAS officer was suspended for misappropriation of COVID funds while at Kosagumuda.
