Mumbai: RBI’s Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) keeps policy rate unchanged at 6.5% for 9 consecutive policies, says Governor Shaktikanta Das.
The MPC decided by a 4:2 majority to keep repo rate unchanged at 6.5%, MSF & Bank Rate at 6.75%, he said.
The central bank also continues to maintain ‘Withdrawal of accommodation’ stance, Governor Das said.
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) announced on Thursday that the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) has decided to keep the policy repo rate unchanged at 6.5%. “The MPC decided by a 4:2 majority to maintain the policy repo rate at 6.5%. Consequently, the standing deposit facility (SDF) rate remains at 6.25%, and the marginal standing facility (MSF) rate and the bank rate at 6.75%,” said RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das.
