Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao’s horror comedy Stree 2, a sequel to Amar Kaushik’s 2018 film of the same name, arrived in cinema halls on August 15 and shattered box office records.
The film received positive reviews from both critics and audiences and opened at a solid Rs 55.40 crore in India on its first day, surpassing Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan as the second-biggest opener. Continuing its amazing box office run, the film recently surpassed the Rs 130 crore mark. Amid these impressive numbers, details about the cast’s fees for Stree 2 have emerged online.
How much did Shraddha Kapoor charge to play the lead role in Stree 2? If reports are anything to go by, the Tu Jhoothi Main Makkar actress was paid Rs 5 crore for the sequel. This is reportedly the second-highest salary.
Rajkummar, who reprised his role as Vicky in the latest release, allegedly received Rs 6 crore. Meanwhile, there are also claims that Varun Dhawan, who had a brief appearance as Bhediya, charged a whopping Rs 2 crore for the cameo.
Another report suggests that veteran actor Pankaj Tripathi, seen as Rudra Bhaiyya in the film, reportedly took home Rs 3 crore. Aparshakti Khurana, who plays the supporting role of Bittu, earned around Rs 70 lakh, while Abhishek Banerjee a.k.a Jaana earned approximately Rs 55 lakh.
The production house has not yet confirmed or denied these figures.
