Puri: As per the decision of the management committee, SJTA chief administrator Arabinda Padhee wrote a letter to ASI DG to carry out an early inspection of Puri Srimandir’s Ratna Bhandar and complete the repair work.
He has also called upon the ASI to employ laser scanning and GPRS technology for inspection purposes. Following the state government’s approved standard operating procedures (SOP), the ASI will assume responsibility for the conservation and repair efforts after the migration process of the external and internal gems is complete.
The letter emphasizes the use of the latest technology for the survey, ensuring the temple remains unharmed. Moreover, the state government’s SOP for the comprehensive technical survey has been forwarded to the ASI.
It is advised that the ASI engage esteemed institutions such as IIT and CBRI for this technical assessment. The ASI has been urged to commence the conservation and repair work promptly after the thorough technical inspection of the Ratna Bhandar is finished.
Padhee has requested in his letter that the count of jewels and valuables in the temporary Ratna Bhandar be tallied and then restored to the original Bhandar.
